Deviant Damnation
R.H. Peronneau

It is not easy, the simple day to day life of an ordinary man, always unsure of the job and having a roof over your head, better to be the boss and own both the business and the roof.
This is Jonathan’s pursuit. One he is determined to achieve from his humble beginning. In his favor, he has determination and an all too selfish drive that will serve him well--at first, before bringing him into contention with a multitude of obstacles to overcome. Such as, being a single parent to his son, Gideon. Wanting to be near his much loved son, Jonathan gives up a prosperous traveling position in the Clyde Shipping Empire. Some help comes from the boy’s grandmother, Aunt Hennie. In this time of reconstruction, Jonathan finds himself to be oppressed by many of the same conditions endured by his slave ancestors, and vows to walk unbowed at any moment in his troubled life.
Fate gives him the design of a crazy quilt as a pattern to a life that is adorned with a multitude of entanglements and some surprising twists—both good and bad—that unleash a side of him he never knew he had. Disease, fulfillment, prosperity and failure beset him, as does an odd marriage during a challenging era. All seem to test his fortitude and persona. Things unfold in interesting, unusual ways, as you will discover when reading this memorable tragedy.
